The 2024 Sepang 12 Hours will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 14-16, racing at the Sepang International Circuit which previously hosted Formula 1’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

Absolute Racing, an established team that operates across Southeast Asia, has confirmed its first entry in the race and says its other one will be revealed “in the coming days”.

The team’s first entry, HZO Fortis Racing by Absolute, will feature a trio of Malaysian drivers in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Haziq Oh and Hairie Oh will be joined by driver coach Aaron Lim, who is coming out of retirement for the event. Lim said his last time racing in “a competitive GT race” was with Absolute Racing in 2011.

Lim also previously drove in the 2008-09 season of the A1 Grand Prix series, representing Team Malaysia.

The Sepang 12 Hour will be the first endurance event for brothers Haziq Oh and Hairie Oh. Last year, they drove in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series, finishing second in the standings of the Lamborghini Cup class.

“We’re eager to soak in the experience, honing our skills and pushing our limits on the track,” Hairie Oh said.

Absolute Racing chief executive Ingo Matter said he was delighted with the line-up.

“This race holds particular significance for us, and the inclusion of three Malaysian drivers adds a special touch to the occasion,” he said.

A full entry list for the event has not yet been revealed.
