Qualifying 1

Kean Nakamura-Berta claims pole position for Race 1 after Qualifying 1 was cut short with just 1 minute and 21 seconds remaining.

 

Race control announced that the session would not resume at 8:46 am, bringing Qualifying 1 to a premature end for currently unknown reasons.

 

The Mumbai Falcons driver put in a 2:01.233, with a 0.197 gap to P2 – a comfortable margin compared to the rest of the top 10.

Behind in P2 is teammate Freddie Slater, who secured his front-row start with a 2:01.430.

 

PREMA’s Rashid al Dhaheri was only 0.047 seconds off of P2, with a 2:01.477.

 

Mumbai Falcons driver Dion Gowda completes the second row after securing P4 with a 2:01.499, just 0.022 seconds off of Al Dhaheri.

Yas Heat’s Zack Scoular and HITECH’s Deagen Fairclough lock out the third row, claiming P5 and P6 with 2:01.569 and 2:01.592, respectively.

 

Sainteloc’s Matteo Quintarelli, PHM AIX’s Nikita Bedrin, Yas Heat’s Keanu Al Azhari, and XCEL Motorsport’s Tiago Rodrigues round out the top 10 for Race 1.

 

The coveted P12 was secured by R-ace GP’s Enzo Deligny with a 2:01.868. Should Deligny finish Race 1 in P12, he will secure the reverse-grid pole for Race 2.

 

Qualifying 2

Qualifying 2 got off to a slightly delayed start due to the incident in the first session.

Bedrin claimed pole position, putting him at the front for Race 3 on Sunday. The second qualifying session saw several drivers break into the 2:00s, with Bedrin’s pole lap sitting at 2:00.728.

 

Al Azhari locks out the second row with a 2:00.833, 0.105 seconds off of pole position.

 

Race 1 pole sitter Nakamura-Berta fell short of P2 by 0.004 seconds, with a 2:00.837 that puts him in P3.

Slater also fell short by a small margin of 0.004, his time of 2:00.841 securing him P4 for Race 3.

 

Al Dhaheri and Fairclough round out the third row with a 2:00.943 and a 2:00.977, respectively.

 

The rest of the top 10 was filled out by Rodrigues, Scoular, Deligny, and PREMA’s Doriane Pin.

 

Several drivers that did well in the first qualifying session, such as Gowda and Quintarelli, fell short of a top 10 entry, securing P15 and P20, respectively.
