Asian Motorsport reviews the action from race one of the third round of the Eurocup-3 championship at Algarve.

Race one of the third round of the Eurocup-3 season was held at 17:05 local time.

Christian Ho took pole, looking to bounce back from a disappointing start to the season, and kept the lead at the start as drivers behind him started to fiercely battle with each other. Owen Tangavelou, who started in third, overtook teammate Bruno del Pino at the start, but it wasn’t long before the Vietnamese driver was overtaken by the Spanish driver.

An accident between Luciano Morano and Jose Garfias got the safety car out on track, neutralizing the race. It would restart with 20 minutes to go, and Alexander Abkhazava overtook Tangavelou around the outside of the first corner, but one lap later at the same corner, Tangavelou did the same move on the Sainteloc driver to get back in the podium positions.

With 10 minutes to go, Campos driver Michael Shin retired from the race, pulling into the pits. With six minutes left in the race, the safety car was called once again for an accident involving Suleiman Zanfari.

This time, the race wasn’t able to be restarted, and Christian Ho won after leading from start to finish. Tangavelou held on to third place with Abkhazava finishing just behind him in fourth.
