Official running for the first round of the 2024 Thailand Super Series got underway in Buriram on Friday.

Two 45-minute practice sessions were held on Friday afternoon for the 10-car GT3 class and the seven cars entered in GTM.

The first 45-minute practice session was topped by the #12 Honda NSX GT3 from Singha Motorsport Team Thailand, driven by Piti Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri.

In the second session, the reigning Thailand Super Series teams’ champion, B-Quik Absolute Racing, flexed their muscles. At the end of running, the team’s four Audi R8 LMS Evo II cars were first, second, third and fifth.

The next best team was Team AAI. Their #91 BMW, driven by Chun Hua Chen and Jesse Krohn, finished the session fourth quickest.

The session’s fastest lap was 1:35.323s, set by the #27 B-Quik Absolute Racing Audi shared by Vincent Lin and Markus Winkelhock.

Their time was 0.950s faster than the second-quickest car, the #62 B-Quik Absolute Racing Audi driven by Akash Nandy and Eshan Pieris.

The #12 Honda that topped the first practice session earlier in the day only finished seventh in the second session.

The next time the GT3s hit the track will be on Saturday morning for two qualifying sessions.
