New Zealand-based GT team, FHK Racing by Prime Speed Sport, have confirmed they will enter a Vantage GT3 Evo in the 12 Hours of Sepang, which takes place on March 14-16 at the Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Francois Beziac, Heremana Malmezac and Jono Lester will drive the #71 Vantage GT3 Evo. It will be the first 12-hour endurance race for FHK Racing.

Beziac and Malmezac have raced GT machinery in New Zealand and Lester, a pro driver, has more than a decade of experience racing GT cars in New Zealand, Australia and Asia.

FHK Racing said on their website that Sepang’s “gruelling conditions” would challenge the team and their objective was “a solid, composed and mistake-free performance.”

A photo of the team’s Vantage GT3 Evo on social media shows it will be run with a black and light blue livery.

At least four manufacturers will be represented in the 2024 12 Hours of Sepang: Aston Martin, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi. There may still be more as a final entry list for the event has not yet been published.

Confirmed entries so far include two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs and a Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 992) from Absolute Racing, the defending race champions.

Modena Motorsports has entered a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and Climax Racing has entered an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo.

Aston Martin revealed the new Vantage GT3 Evo in February.

The car raced for the first time in the FIA World Endurance Championship season opener, the Qatar 1812km, on March 2. After 10 hours of racing, the two Vantage GT3 Evos finished 2nd and 3rd.

In February, Aston Martin said it expected as many as 30 Vantage GT3s to be racing by the end of the 2024 season.
