Former Macau GP winner Andre Couto has carried out tyre tests for Top Speed, the organisers of the FIA Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC), at the Shanghai International Circuit in China.

The tyre tests took place at the Shanghai International Circuit over the weekend, with a focus on evaluating new Giti tyres that may be used in the upcoming Macau GP in November and the 2025 FRMEC season.

Couto’s involvement in this testing role is a continuation of his previous test driving duties for Top Speed, with the Macau driver having carried out similar exercises at the Sepang International Circuit for last year’s F4 UAE Championship.

The main goal of testing was to comprehensively evaluate the durability, grip, responsiveness, and overall performance of the new Giti tyres. Couto’s significant experience has played an important role in providing insights to guide decisions on tyre selection and optimisation ahead of the upcoming Formula Regional events.

Couto carried out the testing in a vehicle previously used by Enzo Deligny and the R.ace team during the 2024 FRMEC season.
